First and foremost, this is where the Spoilers pertaining to the plot of Xenoblade Chronicles really ramp up in intensity and detail. For those who have yet to complete this game, discretion is strongly advised.
Fallen Arm is the is the original left arm of the Mechonis. In the great battle against the Bionis, this is the same left arm that was partially amputated by the Sword of the Bionis.
This area is a major turning point in the plot of the game on multiple fronts.
 Reuniting the Party
After having a strange dream, Shulk wakes up on the beach and sees the wreckage of Face Nemesis in front of him. He successfully removes Fiora from the wreckage and lays her out on the beach. Attempting to resuscitate, he realizes that she needs water and his flask has run empty.
Fortunately for Shulk there's a small spring nearby, so he goes to retrieve the water and pours some into Fiora's mouth. Shulk attempts some CPR and Fiora awakens with what she declares to be "her first kiss." Shulk thought her memory had been lost, but when revealed that to not be the case he hugged his longtime friend joyously!
After a lengthy conversation, Shulk and Fiora set out to find the others. However, the Monado won't activate yet as a result of the Apocrypha. However, some Mechon attack while Shulk and Fiora are resting. Shulk's determination to protect his friend allowed him to override the Apocrypha's effects and activate the Monado. Shulk is able to defeat the first wave but gets surrounded by a second wave!
Around this time Reyn and Sharla awakened and had to scale a wall. At the top of said wall they hear a loud boom-like sound. Realizing that someone was in a fight, they rushed to see what was going on, rushing in to give Shulk a hand against said Mechon that had surrounded him. Together, the three of them defeat the Mechon before proceeding on to find the others.
After climbing to the top and bottom of Radiocarpea, Fiora hears something that the others don't. Suddenly, they're being approached by something.
On another beach, Melia, Dunban and Riki are walking when they take a break. During the cutscene, Riki catches a fish and cooks it for Dunban whilst Melia is sleeping. When the trio resume their search for the others, Riki finds a pipe that leads somewhere. On the other side, they reach a village, where the party is reunited along with brother and sister.
It is at this time in which the people that helped Shulk, Reyn, Fiora and Sharla are Machina, the People of the Mechonis. The party is then introduced to Linada, who has some things to explain at the building that the locals call Junks.
 Helping the Machina Doctor
After listening to Linada, she wishes to examine Fiora. As a Machina doctor, she can recognize when something isn't right with anyone who is Machina (or part-Machina, as is the case). Sharla stays with Linada while the rest of the party meet with the village chief: Miqol. After hearing his story, he requests that the party stop Egil, his son.
Before that can take place, the party needs to find a Piezoelectric Unit, which will help to make repairs to Fiora. A red glow can bee seen at Digit 5 Beach at night, which is where the party needs to go. Along the way, it would be a good idea to keep Anti-Mechon weapons equipped as the majority of enemies in the area are Mechon, and several of the monsters will drop said weapons in Silver and Gold chests.
After retrieving the Piezoelectric Unit, take it to Linada. Speak to Miqol then head to the marked building to rest, and then to continue on. The next day, and following a cutscene you'll receive the key that you'll need to open the Rotating Bulkhead on Digit 2, which opens the way to Mechonis Field. Miqol advises the party to find someone named Vanea, his daughter, who will be of assistance.
 After Mechonis Core
Following the events of Mechonis Core, a few things will change. On the beach where Shulk and Fiora reunited is one of the Superbosses: Ancient Daedala. At Level 105, it is the highest level Mechon you'll encounter, and it uses a Counter Spike. You'll want to use Anti-Mechon weapons here, while they aren't the strongest weapons possible, without them you'll require Moando Enchant on top of needing Spike Resist gems or Monado Purge.
Night Vision gems will also be a must in order to force it to take damage at night, a common theme among all Superbosses.
Second, within the hidden village, there is a platform only accessible swimming to it, but after talking to an unnamed Machina NPC in Colony 6, item orbs containing items from Sword Valley, Mechonis Field and Agniratha will appear here.
